Website Design & Development

We understand web design companies all work differently and have different prices and this can be pretty confusing! At Element we don’t just take some ideas, pick a standard theme, use Squarespace or Shopify (these are far too limiting for what can be created), make it look ok and here’s your website!

So let’s explain how we are different and how we work

We like to work closely with our clients to make the perfect site for them. Carefully we create bespoke websites using the clients requirements, detailed brief, and our conversations together. Using all this we begin on the design stage, creating some visual designs for you to view, we talk together again and can make any necessary changes ensuring our clients are 100% happy with how the site will look before building the site. All through the process the client signs off on different design stages so they are involved along the way and are happy with each stage.

All our websites are hand coded or built on WordPress depending on the clients requirements. WordPress is a really powerful and robust content management system (CMS) and powers some massive websites including Sony, Facebook, Time Magazine and Disney. It’s excellent if you have an e-commerce store and would like to add and manage your own products (a full tutorial on how to do this will be given). We can talk you through these options and suggest the best for you.

All websites are fully responsive, meaning your website will dynamically adapt to device, screen and browser width - with over half of web traffic coming from mobiles and tablets it’s a must have! Each website will include SEO and be made as secure as possible using many different measures including SSL certificates to create secure server connections if required.

The Process

First we ask that you give us a detailed brief and a budget so we know what you are looking for and what you’re looking to improve on if you currently have a website. Designing and building a website is similar to buying a diamond ring, so it’s important to give us a budget to work with.

Next up we will fire a few questions your way to enable us to get the creative juices flowing and we can discuss the project with you in much more detail. After this we can then give you a detailed proposal with costs working to your budget and if you are happy and would like to work with us we will send you an agreement and invoice. The design stage can be really complex and time consuming so this happens after the client has chosen to put their trust in us and work together, a brief has been given, budget agreed and payment has been made. We ask for 50% to be paid upfront, this allows us to get you scheduled in and allocate the required time to start and complete your site. The remaining 50% is to be paid upon completion of the website.

We will then start with the functionality of the website and a breakdown of all site pages, ensuring it’s super user friendly for your viewers. Having a site that your customers can navigate quickly and easily is so important, it allows them to view all of your pages simply and make purchases easily.

Design time! We will take on board of all the ideas and needs that we have discussed together to design a site thats perfect for you, we will create visual mock ups of the design layout so you are really happy with how your new site will look. And that’s it we get cracking making you an amazing new website or e-commerce store!

And don’t worry after your website has launched, if you need us we are still here. We can help take care of site management, updates, amendments, or additions etc you would like to make.
